I am a former tax professional, currently a stay-at-home mom. I belong to a small and a bit quirky community of travel hackers. Nothing illegal, I assure you! However, even if you don't intend to do any travel hacking, there is a lot of information in my book a regular family should find useful. It's really about optimizing your limited credit card spending potential and saving money in general, in order to afford travel. About half of the chapters deal with the best long-term credit card choices for a regular family.
There are websites out there that provide a lot of similar information. However, most of them focus on sign-up bonuses only and not long-term strategies. Additionally, they are tailored to single travelers who are looking to fly business class. My advice is geared toward a regular middle-class family with more realistic expectations. I liked the information in the book. It is a clear and honest description of what an average US family can achieve by getting and using frequent flyer miles. However I found that a lot of the content is the same that you can find on the writer's website.
